Dear Friends, Neighbors, Colleagues, Acquaintances, and Concerned Citizens, You have not left us to deal with this alone. Your continued practical demonstrations of love, concern, care, and compassion, transcend the English language’s capacity to express our gratitude. Words can not express the overwhelming amount of support and love that has been given to us. No act of kindness has been too small. This kindness and generosity continues to be instrumental in moving us forward. Not only are there many cards, letters and personal comments from the community comforting in our time of need, but the incredible displays of respect, kindness and sympathy along the funeral procession route, were heartfelt and gratifying. As we reflect on this painful experience, the most valuable lesson we learned is to be thankful. Being forced into tragic circumstances gives us a fresh perspective on life. We do have a fresh perspective on life. It is a precious gift with an uncertain duration. Distant memories have sharpened and suddenly become priceless, sustaining memories. Please know our entire family takes comfort in knowing the extraordinary folks of our community and surrounding areas were there for us. We are life long residents of West Haven. We have always loved it here and could not imagine having experienced this loss with any other community family. If we overlooked anyone, please charge it to our heads, not our hearts. You all have been family to us in the truest sense of the word. We are eternally grateful. Thank you and God bless, The Family of Officer Robert Fumiatti NHPD #24 |
